- 6 strips thick-cut bacon
- 2 cans (15 oz each) great northern or navy beans, drained
- 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
- 1 medium onion, finely diced
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy (6-8 minutes). Remove from heat and chop into pieces.
- In the same skillet, sauté diced onion in bacon grease until translucent (about 5 minutes).
- In a mixing bowl, combine drained beans, sautéed onions, chopped bacon, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake uncovered for another 15-20 minutes until bubbly and slightly caramelized.
