Description

Bunny Pretzels are whimsical and delicious snacks that bring joy to any gathering. Soft and buttery, these adorable bunny-shaped treats are perfect for Easter or any festive occasion. Serve them warm with dips for a delightful treat that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (100°F – 110°F)
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ½ cup baking soda (for boiling)
  • 4 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)
  • 1 egg + 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
  • Coarse sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a bowl, mix warm water and sugar, then stir in the yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Create the dough: In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms. Knead lightly until smooth.
  3. Let it rise: Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. Shape bunnies: Punch down the dough, divide into small pieces, and roll into bunny shapes.
  5. Boil before baking: Preheat oven to 425°F. Bring water to boil, dissolve baking soda, and boil each bunny for about 30 seconds before placing on a baking sheet.
  6. Brush & bake: Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with coarse sea salt, and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.
