- 3–4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a saucepan, melt 1/4 cup of butter; stir in brown sugar until bubbly. Pour into the prepared pan.
- Arrange banana slices over the caramel layer.
- In a bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually combine with wet ingredients until just mixed.
- Pour batter over bananas and bake for 40-45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for five minutes before flipping onto a serving plate.
