  • 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. 1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture, then combine with the flour mixture until just mixed.
  3. 3. Knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. 5. Mix remaining sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  6. 6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread melted butter over it, and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. 7. Roll tightly into a log, pinch seams to seal, and place in a greased loaf pan. Let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. 8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
