Description

Crab cakes are a delightful seafood dish that combines crispy exteriors with tender, flavorful interiors. Perfect for family dinners or elegant gatherings, these simple crab cakes bring a taste of the ocean to your table and are sure to impress everyone.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lump crab meat
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or chives
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by checking crab meat for shells and chopping herbs.
  2. In a large bowl, combine crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, eggs, herbs, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small patties about 2 inches wide, ensuring they are not packed too tightly.
  4. Chill the patties on a parchment-lined baking sheet for at least 30 minutes to help maintain their shape while cooking.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook each cake for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Transfer cooked cakes to paper towels to absorb excess oil and serve warm with lemon wedges or your favorite dipping sauce.
